This privacy policy explains how personal data is processed when you visit My Golden Journal. Processing is based on the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Austrian law. Last updated: 21 August 2026.

2. Hosting

This website is hosted by Hostinger International Ltd., 61 Lordou Vironos Street, 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus, with infrastructure operated in the European Union. The hosting provider processes server log data (for example IP address, date and time of access, requested URL, browser type and operating system) to operate and secure the website. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a secure and reliable website). Server logs are typically retained only as long as needed for security and operations (usually up to 14 days, unless a longer period is required to investigate incidents).

3. Cookies

Necessary cookies and equivalent local storage are used to remember your cookie preference. Optional statistics cookies are only set after your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). 4. Fonts

Fonts are loaded locally from this website’s server. No third-party font CDN (such as Google Fonts) is used.

5. Contact form

If you send a message via the contact form, the data you provide (name, email address and message) is processed solely to respond to your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (steps prior to a contract / answering a request) or, where applicable, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering enquiries). Messages are sent by email to the address in the Imprint and are not stored as posts in WordPress. Email is handled by Hostinger (EU). Messages are deleted when they are no longer needed for the conversation, unless retention is required by law.

6. Comments

Blog posts on this website do not offer a comment function. No comment data is collected.

7. Analytics and marketing

Optional statistics or marketing tools are only activated after you accept optional cookies. Until then, no non-essential tracking cookies are set. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent). You can withdraw this consent at any time via Cookie settings. The specific analytics provider and its cookies will be listed in the Cookie Policy when the tool is connected.

8. Affiliate links and external sites

Some articles contain Amazon partner links and other outbound links (for example Pinterest). Clicking those links takes you to the operator’s website. I do not embed Pinterest widgets or Amazon tracking pixels on this site. Any data processed after you leave this site is governed by the privacy policy of that operator. 9. Author image

The author portrait on articles is served from this website. No Gravatar or other third-party avatar service is used.

10. SSL / TLS encryption

This website uses SSL/TLS encryption to protect data in transit between your browser and the server.

11. Recipients and transfers outside the EU

Recipients of data are Hostinger (hosting and email, EU). This website does not transfer personal data to countries outside the EU/EEA on its own. If you follow an external link (Amazon, Pinterest), that operator may process data under its own rules, which may include transfers outside the EU.

12. Automated decision-making

No automated decision-making including profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR takes place.

13. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, where the legal requirements are met. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before the withdrawal.
